Are $100 guitars worth it? What's the best cheap acoustic guitar? What's the best acoustic electric guitar? I've been asking myself these questions lately, as I've spent several years trying to improve my playing. My quest for the best cheap acoustic guitar turned out to be futile until I realized that I should compare my question to a more scientific one: which is the best inexpensive acoustic guitar?

I know what you're thinking. This question is ridiculous. There is no possible way that a $200 guitar that produces a low-quality tone could be considered to be "the best cheap acoustic guitar price range." How could a guitar with a high-quality tone be found at such an affordable price range?

That's a valid observation. It would certainly make sense to search for a guitar in the "high end" price range. That doesn't mean that a guitar with a better tone would not sound great, or that you wouldn't need to pay that much. After all, what is it that you might need the guitar for? The answer to that question will determine the quality that you should be looking for.

For example, if you're an acoustic beginner, it might make sense to choose a guitar with a deeper, richer sound. But if you're a rock player who likes the feel of a low-quality nylon string acoustic, then you probably don't need a high-end product. (After all, most beginners aren't paying top dollar for their musical instrument.) That said, though, many acoustic models in the low-end price range will still have great tones. So, no matter what your level of experience is, you should be able to find a good sound that fits your budget.

You also need to think about the type of finish on your neck. Many acoustic guitars now come unfinished, so you can choose a finish that matches the style of your music. Some people prefer a natural wood color like mahogany, while others prefer the warmth and richness offered by a high gloss polish like nitro. There are also a wide variety of finishes available on the fretboard, including a wide variety of fingerstyle designs.

Nut positions and saddle shapes also matter when selecting a guitar. The ideal bridge is one that doesn't move. bridge "sit-ups" are popular because they don't allow the bridge to move up and down. "Saddle" designs are another popular choice, as they are very stable. The best sound is produced by having the bridge as high as possible. You can even experiment with the nut position, in order to provide a very different tone.

The best guitars are usually solid wood, with a hard cutaway and a thin neck. They are equipped with a resonant voice box and high quality electronics. Many times these guitars are called "chord-shredded" for their ability to shred through most of the music genres. Many players consider the low end of a guitar's range to be useless, as it does not produce a "real" tone. But if you're looking for a bright and low end loud sounding guitar, then a cutaway model is probably best.

No matter what your level of experience is, there's a good chance that you could use an electric guitar. Even if it's for your child's practice or for some private jam session, there's nothing like having your very own electric guitar. There are tons of models to choose from, so if you're just starting out on a budget, you will have plenty of options. If you know what your budget constraints are, and if you stick to it, you will be able to find a good product that won't break the bank. Just make sure that you do some research before you buy, and keep some nice guitar lessons on hand, so when you finally do get your own electric guitar, you'll have some help to get you started.
